Quick update

I've just returned to Israel after a wonderful trip to the States last month. I was at home in Atlanta for 3 weeks, and then I spent the last week in New York with friends. It gave me a lot of perspective on my new life here, and how things will change when I come back to start grad school in May.

I'm so excited to be back and have the opportunity to learn more. What I'm learning here has really changed my life. Here's a few bits of wisdom I've learned here that I wanted to share:
  • To be human is to overcome one's negative tendencies to be more than who he is.
  • A person's every deed/thought is at its essence a choice between giving and taking.
  • The one true measure of success is the amount of change in ourselves.
  • Be a plumber!-- periodically clean the pipeline from your head to your heart.
  • You can never achieve perfection if you can't accept rebuke.
This is of course just the surface of the surface but I want to try to update this with some new thoughts each month.
